The minimum balance to open any non-interest-bearing account is $50.00. The minimum balance on interest bearing accounts will be the specific minimum balance requirement for that type of account. 
Interest on accounts is compounded monthly and paid to the account monthly.
Internet banking is available with all checking account types without any additional fees.
The interest rate on accounts can change at the banks discretion. We may change the interest rate on your account daily without notice.
Interest on your check deposits begins to accrue on the business day we receive credit for the items.
The daily cut-off time for activity on that days business is 3:00 p.m. 

***Debit Cards

Debit cards are available for all checking accounts with a fee of $2.00 per month. Special Tax Information: The debit card fee marked with a triple asterisk (***) may be subject to Iowa state and local sales tax: 7.00%.

(1) Freedom Checking Accounts
Beginning on January 1, 2018, a new monthly fee of $4.50 per month will be charged to your Freedom Checking Account. This fee will appear with a description of "Paper Statement Fee". This fee will be waived if you are currently utilizing eStatements or if you sign up to become a new eStatement user. Our eStatement service will allow you to access your bank statement as soon as it is available in a safe and secure environment. You can access eStatement sign-up through Online Banking. If you are not currently an Online Banking user and would like to sign up, please contact us at 641-437-4500.
 
Overdraft Defender
When you have unanticipated expenses or make mathematical errors that cause your checking account to be short of cash, you may not have to worry about the hassle of returned checks. Iowa Trust and Savings Bank has OVERDRAFT DEFENDER® available for checking account customers. This service may provide coverage up to $300 on regular personal checking accounts and up to $500 on interest bearing personal checking accounts.
Our overdraft defender service is a purely discretionary privilege that we may provide to you from time to time and which may be withdrawn or withheld by us at any time without prior notice or reason or cause. Our normal fee for non-sufficient funds (NSF) or overdraft (OD) items is currently $35.00 per NSF or OD item, as set forth in our fee schedule, and will be charged for any transaction initiated for payment from your checking account that does not have sufficient funds. Transactions that may cause or create overdrafts include checks; in-person (teller) withdrawal; ACH or automatic payments. In addition, if you sign the Opt-in authorization, you may be able to access your overdraft checking limit through an ATM or debit card purchase. The amount of any overdrafts including our fees that you owe us shall be due and payable immediately. We may refuse to pay an overdraft for you at any time, even though your account is in good standing and even though we may have previously paid overdrafts for you.
**Please be aware that ITSB does not monitor or control the number of times a transaction for payment is presented for payment in the case of NFS, could be charged multiple times for the same transaction as included in the terms and conditions overdraft addendum when opening an account.
